One of the lesser known facts of strength training is that it can help improve your immune system!
Recent research done showed that people who had done 4 months of moderate to intense strength training had a 43% less chance of getting colds during winters. Also, when they did get a cold, they were able to recover quicker and the symptoms were not as severe.
When we first perform strength training, we actually have a lower immune response. Once we get into a regular pattern of strength training, our body makes adaptations that allows it to better handle stress and also fight off disease more effectively.
