Doing Partial Reps As An Overload Technique | Day #107 WellFit 365
Partial reps are a simple and effective overload technique to spice up your training
Doing partial reps as an overload technique
This involves splitting the range of motion of the exercise in to portions, usually halves, and performing repetitions of reduced ROM on purpose.
A very popular version of this is called 21’s where we perform 7 reps of the bottom half of the movement, 7 of the top half and then 7 full reps.
This is a great way to increase the time under tension for a target muscle group which will help to increase energy output and promote growth.
Partial reps can be performed on any isotonic exercise and for varying amounts of reps. 21s are just an example.
Also you can mix up the order and do your full reps followed by partial reps, there is no set protocol that must be followed. Experiment and have some fun burning those muscles out
