Mondayitis! | Day #125 WellFit 365
Mondayitis is is a common “First world” problem.
It’s pretty likely that someone you come across will refer to Monday’s work with disappointment if not disgust.
So what does this do for our healthy habits that we a trying to engrain? Well it all comes down to state of mind. This will influence all your decisions. Think about it, if you have already verbalised several times that you hate Monday’s what are the chances that you wake up and jump out of be full of zest. I would say it’s pretty low.
The snowball effect can continue from there. We hit the snooze alarm, we are running late for work, we forget our lunch, buy take-away, energy decreases, we decide not to workout and then we complain about how it all went.
But we can combat this with a few easy to do actions. Our goal is to be in a great state of mind consistently. I’m not referring to buzzing of our heads but generally having a good outlook on our current situation.
Here are my 3 actions for you.
1) Do not verbalise it. Every time we say something out loud that thought strengthens.
2) Be prepared. Have your gym and work clothes ready. Have your healthy meals cooked and know what you plan to do at work the next day.
3) Go to bed at your regular weekday time. We usually stay up later on Saturday and if we do the same Sunday it’s likely that we will be tired come Monday.
