Goblet Squat Demonstration – Dumbell & Kettlebell | Day #12 WellFit 365
Demonstration of the Goblet Squat, using either a dumbell or a kettlebell.
Goblet squats are an excellent introduction to squatting techniques for beginners and are also a great easy set up exercise for more advanced lifters.
The key points to remember when performing a goblet squat are :-
– Feet slightly wider than shoulder width
– Toes slightly pointed outwards
– Hold dumbell or kettlebell against chest with elbows tight against each side
– As you descend keep dumbell upright and keep chest high
– First movement of any squatting exercise is to sit your butt backwards so the knees dont move in front of the toes
– Squat until elbows are between knees
– Push through your heels and use the muscles in the outside of your hip to push your knees out as you rise.
– Breathe out on exertion
