Become Aware Of Your Circle of Influence For Better Health & Fitness Outcomes.
Today I talk about the importance of the 5 closest people around you – Your circle of influence.
As famous author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn states here; “We are the average of the 5 people that we spend the most time with.”
This means that we often reflect & develop the behaviours of our closest peers and we share similar beliefs and habits.
So, if we’re going to make a dramatic change from where we are, we really need to examine those 5 people to create a bit of awareness.
Creating Awareness of Your Circle of Influence for Better Health.
Great questions to help you build some awareness right now:
1) What are those 5 people’s habits? Do these habits line up with how you want your body/life to be?
2) Are they Pro-active or Re-active in their life? Do they take responsibility for their actions like you need to in order to get where you want to go?
3) Do they see a Healthy Lifestyle as a positive or negative? Think about whether this lines up with your health & fitness goals. I’m sure you’d agree that it is much easier to work out and eat healthy if your close friends and family are doing it too. It is also very easy to slip into unhealthy habits (like eating junk food and not exercising regularly) if your closest people are doing it.
4) Do they support change? Are they supportive of your personal growth? When you have doubts about whether you can keep up your healthy eating habits, do they say something like “Keep it up, you’re doing a great job. you’re going to see results very soon”?… OR… do they say something like “Don’t worry about it, have a cheat meal you’ve been working really hard you deserve it.” While they may always have the best intentions for you, listening to that second sentence can be detrimental to your health or weight loss goals.
It’s crucial to have people around you that have the qualities and habits that you want and will need to create change. Start to seek out a health & fitness circle of influence. Find people who are going to help you get where you want to go. Spend more time with the people who have the body/life you want and feed off their energy. Doing this will make achieving your goals SO MUCH EASIER!
