Why Too Much Training Abs Could Be Making Your Waistline Thicker
I think it’s important to re-visit spot fat reduction. Your average gym user is spending far too much time on abdominal training. This can lead to over-development of muscles and also imbalances.
Not only this, but abdominal training is usually low energy expenditure, so this time in your workout would be much better spent on cardio or compound exercises.
Reduce you abdominal training to under 10mins of your workout and save it for the end. That way your core will be more efficient during the rest of your workout and lower your risk of injury.
